Player of the Week
 
Nate Bankoff, Tufts
(Senior, OF/1B - Lynnfield, Mass.)
Bankoff helped the Jumbos win their first conference crown since 2002 as he batted .308 (4-for-17) with a .438 on-base percentage and a .462 slugging mark. He scored five runs and drove in seven more. Bankoff was 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run in the 5-4 opening win over Wesleyan on Friday, and was 2-for-6 in Sunday’s 14-12 victory against Williams.
   
Pitcher of the Week
 
Chris DeGoti, Tufts
(Sophomore, RHP - Miami, Fla.)
DeGoti made an appearance in all three of the Jumbos’ games during the 2010 NESCAC Baseball Championship over the weekend, recording seven strikeouts while allowing six hits and two earned runs over 4.2 IP. He earned two saves for Tufts, which improved to a program-best 31 victories this season (31-5).

Player of the Week
 
Robin Allemand, Williams
(Senior, DH/3B - Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.)
Allemand batted .455 (10-for-22) with a .520 on-base percentage and a 1.091 slugging mark during a 4-1 week for the Ephs. Six of his 10 hits were for extra bases, as he had a double, two triples, and three home runs. He drove in an impressive 14 runs and scored seven. In a 14-9 victory over Wesleyan, Allemand went 3-for-6 with six RBI and two home runs.
   
Pitcher of the Week
 
Joe Pace, Bowdoin
(Senior, RHP - Newburyport, Mass.)
Pace played a key role in the Polar Bears’ two wins against Bates over the weekend. Pace came in on Friday and silenced a late Bobcat rally to earn a save in an 8-4 victory. On Saturday, Pace started the first game of a doubleheader and posted a shutout in a 2-0 victory, allowing five hits and striking out five. The two wins put Bowdoin in the NESCAC championship for the first time since 2007.

Player of the Week
 
Gordy Webb, Bates
(Junior, C/DH - Hampden, Maine)
Webb delivered the big hit in all three of the Bobcats’ games against Colby last week. On Friday, his two-run double in the eighth lifted Bates to a 3-1 win. In Saturday’s first game, Webb’s two-run single keyed a five-run seventh in a 7-3 victory. During game two, Webb cranked a grand slam in a 7-2 decision. He batted .414 (12-for-29), had an OBP of .500, and slugged .759 with 12 runs scored and 12 driven in  during a 7-1 week.
   
Pitcher of the Week
 
Kevin Gilchrist, Tufts
(Sophomore, LHP - Medford, Mass.)
In what was just the second start of his career, Gilchrist fired a complete-game one-hitter to give the Jumbos an important 5-0 win at Bowdoin on Friday afternoon. Over nine innings, Gilchrist struck out five and walked five batters while surrendering just a double with two outs in the sixth inning. Tufts went on to win the series over the weekend, 2-1, and captured the top seed from the East Division.

Player of the Week
 
Sam Sager, Tufts
(Sophomore, 3B - Cranston, R.I.)
Sager had some timely hits for the Jumbos over the weekend, including a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th to give his squad a 5-4 win over Trinity. In the second game against the Bantams on Sunday, Sager hit a two-run double in the bottom of the first to get Tufts going in an eventual 10-4 victory. He batted .429 (3-for-7) with a .556 OBP and a 1.143 slugging mark in the two games.
   
Pitcher of the Week
 
Mike Barsotti, Wesleyan
(Sophomore, RHP - Philadelphia, Pa.)
Barsotti had a strong effort during six shutout innings against Albertus Magnus, allowing five hits and a walk while striking out eight. He held opposing batters to an average of just .217. Barsotti’s eight strikeouts moved him to 65 on the season, just 14 shy of the program’s single-season record.

Player of the Week
 
Brett Gorman, Bowdoin
(Junior, 3B - Bedford, N.Y.)
Gorman batted .588 (10-for-17), had an on-base percentage of .708 and a slugging mark of .706 during a 4-1 week for the Polar Bears, which included a three-game sweep at Middlebury. He had two doubles, five walks, eight runs scored, five driven in, and was 2-for-2 in stolen bases. Against the Panthers, Gorman went 8-for-10 with seven runs scored.
   
Pitcher of the Week
 
Ed Bernstein, Tufts
(Junior, RHP - Foxborough, Mass.)
Making three appearances for the Jumbos last week, Bernstein earned a win and recorded a hold with three strikeouts and one hit allowed over 2.2 IP as he held opposing batters to a .111 average. With Tufts trailing Colby 8-7 on Saturday, Bernstein appeared and got the Jumbos out of a two-on, one out jam. He finished the week with a WHIP of 0.375.

Player of the Week
 
Kevin Heller, Amherst
(Sophomore, RF - Brooklyn, N.Y.)
In a 3-0 weekend against Hamilton, Heller batted .600 (9-for-15) with an OBP of .625 and a slugging mark of 1.200. He hit two doubles, two triples, a home run, walked once, scored six runs and drove in five while handling seven fielding chances flawlessly. Friday against the Continentals, Heller was 6-for-7 with four RBI, as he hit safely in his first five at-bats.
   
Pitcher of the Week
 
Oliver Van Zant, Bowdoin
(Freshman, RHP - Westport, Conn.)
Van Zant held the high-scoring offense of Trinity at bay as he allowed five hits and one run while striking out 12 batters in the third game of the weekend series, a 4-1 win for the Polar Bears that gave them a 2-1 series win. In seven innings of work, Van Zant surrendered only two walks and one extra-base hit, as the Bantams batted .185 against him.

Player of the Week
 
Brice Kelly, Wesleyan
(Senior, RF - Austin, Texas)
Kelly hit safely in each of the Cardinals’ four games (3-1) last week, posting a .471 batting average and a .765 slugging mark along with a 1.000 fielding percentage. He was 8-for-17 at the dish with two runs scored, nine driven in, three doubles, a triple, and a stolen base (1-for-1). Kelly had three RBIs in the 8-6 win over Amherst on Saturday.
   
Pitcher of the Week
 
Andrew Janiga, Trinity
(Junior, RHP - Ellington, Conn.)
Janiga went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in two appearances last week, allowing just one hit and four walks while striking 10 batters in 10.0 IP. In an 11-0 win over Plymouth St. on Tuesday, Janiga tossed six scoreless innings and allowed one hit. He followed with four innings of shutout ball in a win against Union on Saturday.

Player of the Week

Will Lawton, Amherst
(Senior, 2B - Newton, Mass.)
Lawton hit safely in 8-of-10 games last week for the Lord Jeffs, batting .486 with a .548 on-base percentage and a .757 slugging mark. He scored 14 runs, drove in 10 others, and did not strike out in 37 at-bats last week. During a pair of wins over Roger Williams, Lawton was a combined 7-for-7 with five runs scored, three RBIs, two doubles, and a triple.
   
Pitcher of the Week

Hayden Metz, Amherst
(Sophomore, RHP - Ridgefield, Conn.)
Metz went 3-0 with a 1.54 ERA in three appearances, tossing 12 strikeouts over 11.2 IP and holding opponents to a .256 average. He gave up 11 hits, two earned runs and two walks. In a 12-8 win over Framingham St., Metz allowed one hit and no runs in 3.0 innings, striking out three and walking none.
