Game Six of Baseball Championship to Start at 1:30 PM

HADLEY, Mass. – Game six of the 2011 NESCAC Baseball Championship between Bowdoin and Tufts will begin at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at Amherst's Memorial Field.

The game, originally scheduled for a 10:00 a.m. start, was delayed by wet weather.

More information will be posted on the NESCAC website and via the NESCAC's official Twitter feed, @nescac, as it becomes available.

Tufts is currently 2-0 in the tournament, having earned a 14-2 win in its opening game over Middlebury on Friday, followed by a 4-2 victory in 12 innings against Bowdoin on Saturday. If the Polar Bears, a 6-5, 10-inning victor over host Amherst on Saturday afternoon to advance to game six, defeat the Jumbos, a seventh and deciding game will be played.

If game seven is required but not able to be played, then per conference rules Tufts will be declared the NESCAC champion and receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Jumbos won game four on Saturday, the game featuring the two undefeated teams in the tournament at the time.
