Amherst Wins NESCAC Women's Golf Tournament for Second Year in a Row
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Amherst College won the 2010 NESCAC Women's Golf Tournament title at the Taconic Golf Course in Williamstown, Mass. The NESCAC Women's Golf Tournament is a one-day event held in conjunction with the Williams Fall Classic. It is the second year in a row in which the Jeffs have claimed the tournament title, as they earned it by six strokes over Middlebury on Sunday.
Amherst posted a day-two score of 320, while Middlebury came in with Sunday round of 326. Williams, which won the 10-team Williams Fall Classic with a score of 663, two strokes ahead of the Lord Jeffs, was third on Sunday with a score of 331. Bowdoin came in fourth (414), and Bates finished fifth (433) among NESCAC squads.
Flora Weeks of Middlebury had the best round of any participant on Sunday at the Fall Classic with a 77 (+6).
