NESCAC Track & Field All-Conference Team Announced

HARTFORD, Conn. - Following the 2004 NESCAC Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the conference has announced the 2004 all-conference team. The top three finishers in each event at the Conference Championships receive all-conference recognition. Colby junior Xavier Garcia was honored as the Most Outstanding Male Performer at the meet for the second consecutive season. Garcia won the 100 and 200 meter sprints while placing second in the long jump and triple jump. Williams sophomore Kaitlin Fulton was named the Most Outstanding Female Performer after winning the 100 and 200 meter sprints and anchoring the winning 4x100 and 4x400 Eph relays.
Amherst’s Shaueen Garrahan was honored as the female Rookie of the Year after winning the 1500 meter run. Fred Jones of Tufts University claimed male Rookie of the Year honors with a first place performances in both the triple jump and long jump. Williams’ head coach Ralph White was named both the Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season after leading the Ephs to their fourth straight women’s title and 12th men’s title in 13 years.
