Meghan Gillis, Bowdoin
(First Year, Forward - Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia)
NESCAC Rookie of the Year Meghan Gillis single-handedly carried
Bowdoin to the NESCAC Championship last weekend, collecting a hat
trick in both the conference semifinal win against Hamilton and
Championship game against Middlebury. Gillis set the tournament
record for points (6) and goals (6).
March 1, 2004
Caitlin Connelly, Hamilton
(Fr., Goaltender - Cheltenham, Pa.)
Connelly set the tone for Hamilton's first-ever post-season victory
by making 13 first-period saves and stopping 23 of 24 overall in
the Continentals' 6-1 first round conference tournament win over
Amherst on Saturday. Hamilton will face top-seeded Bowdoin in the
conference semifinals.

Lorna Gifis, Middlebury
(Junior, Forward - Princeton, N.J.)
Gifis scored two goals and assisted on another as second-ranked
Middlebury topped seventh-ranked Williams, 3-2. The win was the
13th straight for Middlebury against Division III opponents. Gifis
now leads the team and is second in the NESCAC with 41 points on
the season.

Suzie Connor, Connecticut College
(Sophomore, Defender - Bridport, Vt.)
Connecticut College sophomore defenseman Suzie Connor keyed a
weekend NESCAC sweep for the Camels. Friday night, Connor tallied
two goals in a 3-1 victory over Wesleyan. Connor’s first goal
came just :17 seconds into the first period. Saturday afternoon,
Connor anchored a Camel defensive unit that held Trinity scoreless
in a 2-0 victory.
February 9, 2004
Mimi MacKinnon, Trinity
(Senior, Goaltender - Glen Cove, N.Y.)
MacKinnon totaled 118 saves in two games against nationally-ranked
Williams and Middlebury, stopping 61 shots in a 3-0 loss to
9th-ranked Williams and 57 the next day against 4th-ranked
Middlebury. Her save percentage was .914 for the weekend and she
only allowed six goals in the first five periods she played while
facing 86 shots for a .935 save percentage during that span.
February 2, 2004
Emily Quizon, Middlebury
(Sophomore, Forward - Chino Hills, Calif.)
Quizon scored five goals and dished out five assists in a 3-0 week
for the Panthers. She began the week with a goal at Williams,
before scoring one and assisting on three others in a victory over
Connecticut College. Quizon capped off the week with a hat trick
and two assists in the Panthers win over Amherst.

Britney Carr, Bowdoin
(Senior, Forward - Conway, N.H.)
Bowdoin senior Britney Carr scored five goals and assisted on three
others in three Polar Bear wins last week. Bowdoin has out-scored
opponents 63-5 in eight straight wins.

Renee Sisti, Amherst
(Sophomore, Forward - Coventry, Conn.)
Sisti had two goals and two assists in two victories for Amherst
this week. After dishing out both assists in the Jeffs 6-3 win at
St. Michael's on Tuesday, Sisti netted both the game-tying and the
game-winning goals in their 3-2 overtime win at New England College
on Wednesday.

Eden Self, Hamilton
(Senior, Forward - Fairport, N.Y.)
Eden scored four goals and assisted on two others in a 1-1-1 week
for Hamilton. She recorded a hat trick and added an assist in a 6-3
win at Wesleyan. Self scored an unassisted goal and recorded an
assist on the tying goal in the third period of a 3-3 deadlock at
Rochester Institute of Technology earlier in the week.

Molly Wasserman, Williams
(Senior, Forward - Minnetonka, Minn.)
Wasserman led Williams to a 2-0 week scoring five goals and
assisting on two others. The senior became the program’s
all-time leading scorer with her game winner in a 3-1 defeat of
Connecticut College. Wasserman added four more scores and two
assists in a 8-1 victory over Amherst including a score just :45
seconds into the contest.
December 1, 2003
Zoe Baldwin, Hamilton
(Sophomore, Forward - Nepean, Ontario)
Baldwin scored four goals and assisted on another in a 1-1 week for
Hamilton. She scored two goals in a 6-4 loss at Amherst on Nov. 29,
then figured in three of Hamilton's five goals in its 5-3 win at
Amherst on Nov. 30. Baldwin opened the scoring just 1:28 into the
contest and later added a power play goal to give the Continentals
a 4-2 lead midway through the third period. Her assist came on a
short-handed goal near the end of the first period that put
Hamilton up 3-0.

Meghan Gillis, Bowdoin
(First Year, Forward - Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia)
Bowdoin first-year Meg Gillis led the Polar Bears to back-to-back
road victories at Middlebury and Williams. Gillis scored the only
goal of the game in a 1-0 win over the fourth-ranked Panthers
before scoring twice more in a victory over the seventh-ranked
Ephs. Bowdoin’s victory in Vermont snapped Middlebury’s
record-setting 125-game regular season unbeaten streak.
