Wild of Williams, Nolet from Tufts Garner All-America from NSCAA

HADLEY, Mass. – Seniors Sara Wild of Williams and Sarah Nolet of Tufts have been honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as All-America. Wild, the 2010 NESCAC Player of the Year, was chosen as a member of the First Team, while Nolet earned a spot on the Second Team. The duo were the only two individuals from the conference to receive All-America recognition.

Wild propelled Williams to its fourth consecutive and fifth overall NESCAC crown this past November, scoring the first goal in the 2-0 semifinal victory over Middlebury, then tallied the lone goal of the final at rival Amherst in the 74th minute. The senior forward finished the year atop the Eph stat sheet with career-high totals in points (35), goals (13), and assists (nine). She tallied four goals in Williams' 6-0 victory at Brandeis during the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Nov. 14.

One of the most talented athletes to ever grace Cole Field, Wild started all but one game during her four-year tenure and has contributed to a 70-7-3 record during that time. Wild, who is also a two-time All-NESCAC honoree in track and field, garnered her third consecutive appointment to the All-Conference First Team. Wild is the first player from the NESCAC to earn First Team All-America since former Ephs Gabrielle Woodson and Lauren Sinnenberg did so in 2008.

Nolet earned a third consecutive spot on the All-NESCAC First Team, as she anchored a Jumbo defense which allowed a league-low six goals and a 0.40 goals against average. Tufts finished atop the NESCAC standings this year for the first time since 2005, going 6-1-2 in conference play for 20 points and 8-2-4 overall.
