Three NESCAC Women's Soccer Players Earn NSCAA All-America Honors
KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Three NESCAC women's soccer players were honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as All-Americans on Tuesday. The Williams tandem of senior forward Gabrielle Woodson (Plano, Texas) and junior goalkeeper Lauren Sinnenberg (Westfield, N.J.) were named to the All-America First Team, while Amherst junior Meg Murphy (Springfield, Mass.) earned Second Team All-America honors.

HADLEY, Mass. - Williams season came to a close during the semifinals of the 2008 NCAA Womens Soccer Tournament, as the Ephs fell to Wheaton (Ill.) on Friday evening by a 3-1 score. Although Williams outshot Wheaton 21-13 in the game and 15-4 in the first half, it was the Thunder that got on the board early in the contest, opening a 1-0 lead in the sixth minute.

Wheaton (Ill.) Topples Williams 3-1 in NCAA Women's Soccer Semifinals
GREENSBORO, N.C - The freight train that the Williams College womens soccer team had resembled over the last four months finally hit the end of the line Friday night as the Ephs were defeated for the first time in 2008 by defending national champion Wheaton (Ill.) College, 3-1, at McPherson Stadium at Bryan Park in an NCAA Tournament national semifinal. Williams finished its season 19-1-1. Wheaton (22-3-2) advances to play Messiah Saturday in the national championship game Saturday at 5 p.m.

HADLEY, Mass. - Williams advanced to the semifinals of the 2008 NCAA Womens Soccer Tournament with a pair of victories over the weekend. The Ephs will face Wheaton (Ill.) in the first semifinal on Friday, Dec. 5. Williams punched its ticket to the national semifinals thanks to a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over the College of New Jersey on Saturday and a 2-0 blanking of Ithaca on Sunday.

William Smith Takes Amherst 1-0 in Double-Overtime in NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament
GENEVA, N.Y. - William Smith first-year forward Kate Redmond netted the game-winning goal early in the second overtime period to lead the William Smith College soccer team past Amherst 1-0 in the quarterfinal round of the Division III NCAA Tournament this afternoon. The Herons improve to 16-1-5 overall, and earn their sixth trip to the NCAA Tournament semifinals, while the Lord Jeffs end their season with a 14-3-3 mark.
