Trinity Earns 3-1 Victory over Amherst in Volleyball First Round

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Trinity volleyball team won their first NESCAC quarterfinal game since 2005 in a 3-1 (25-19, 23-25, 25-14, 25-19) win over Amherst in the quarterfinals on Friday at Sargent Gymnasium on the campus of Bowdoin College.
The fourth-seeded Bantams improve to 19-8 advance to face top-seeded Bowdoin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Morrell Gymnasium. Fifth-seeded Amherst finishes its year with a record of 20-7.
With the teams tied at a game apiece, the Bantams pulled away with convincing victories in the third and fourth sets. Hannah Brickley sparked the Trinity attack with 20 kills and 13 digs. Danielle Isaman had 11 kills while Jennifer Low distributed 49 assists. Penelope Carpenter earned seven service aces while Sarah Blagden had 25 digs in the win.
Amherst was led by 16 kills from Cristy Meier and 12 from KC Kanoff.
Devin Pence had a match-high 28 digs while Kristin Keeno had 33 assists.
