Middlebury Women Claim Second-Straight NCAA Cross Country Title

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Middlebury College women's cross country team won its second consecutive NCAA Championship today at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. The National Championship is the 15th for the College in an eight-year span. Middlebury won the race with 98 points, followed by NESCAC-rival Williams with 166, Moravian in third with 183, followed by Wisconsin-LaCrosse in fourth (200) and Claremont Mudd Scripps (221) in fifth.

Leading the team was junior Michela Adrian (Portland, Maine) whoplaced eighth with a time of 17:28, 42 seconds off the championship pace. Just behind her was first-year racer Jessica Manzer (Palatine Bridge, N.Y.) in ninth place with a time of 17:35, followed by sophomore Molly Yazwinski (Deerfield, Mass.) in 16th place in 17:45. Rounding out the top five for the Panthers were junior Sarah Logan (Rutland, Vt.) in 30th place (18:04) and junior Kaitlin Gregg (Durham, N.H.) in 35th place (18:07).
